JP Morgan has announced it will open a new office in Athens with a dedicated Payments Innovation Lab to support the business growth in the country.

The local team would consist of approximately 50 people, predominantly payments product and engineering specialists. Mainly, the Lab will focus on ledger technology, AI and cryptography related to payment systems. JP Morgan’s existing employees based in Athens, who work across the Corporate & Investment Bank and Asset & Wealth Management segments will also move to the new office.

“Our investment in a new office and local, highly skilled talent is a testament to J.P. Morgan’s long-term commitment to Greece. We are looking forward to growing our franchise in this market and to continue serving local and international clients from this new home.”
