Over the coming weeks, UK digital bank Monzo will start asking its customers to: enter their PIN when they log into Monzo on a new device; prove their identity regularly in the app by entering their PIN, using Face ID or Touch ID on an iPhone, or their fingerprint on Android; and regularly confirm that they want to keep using other apps with Monzo.

We’re doing this because of new requirements for banks called Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) which come into force on the 14th September. They aim to reduce fraud and make online payments more secure

The bank is to give users more details about these changes via its app over the coming weeks.
