The neobank has announced that its UK customers won’t be allowed to use Revolut cards for both online or offline gambling payments.

This ban has been imposed after the Gambling Commission’s review of online gambling, and the Government’s Review of Gaming Machines and Social Responsibility Measures. This way, UK gambling companies cannot accept credit cards or payments made through a money service business.

This applies to all non-remote general betting, pool betting and betting intermediary licenses, and all remote licenses.

Since people gamble responsibly using a credit card, the regulations aim to protect those most at risk from gambling money they don’t possess.
