myGP app has announced a new vaccination certificate feature, ComputerWeekly.com reports.

It is expected to aid Apple users to prove that they are fully COVID-19 vaccinated. To ensure inclusivity for all, developers are working on an Android version.

Two care home providers have already tried features of the myGP TICKet. The two, Lilian Faithful Care Homes and Barchester Healthcare will make it easy for their staff to show proof of their coronavirus vaccinated status, more so when working with the elderly, who are the most vulnerable.

Users can access myGP TICKet features within the app. A green tick on a user’s photo shows that the person is protected from the virus.

The green tick applies to users after 12 days of the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine. iPlato, the app’s developer notes that this is a clinically assuring method of proving a person’s vaccination status. The vaccination status is generated from the NHS data and is hence real-time.

In the next few weeks, more thorough features will show recent coronavirus test results, vaccination exemption for liable persons, and antibody results. This, however, will only be available to persons who request and enable it.

PaySpace Magazine anticipates that the majority of similar health management apps will soon prepare for this ”new normal”. They are likely to include the vaccination certificate feature due to the fact that some countries will make vaccination mandatory for tourists.

We’ve reported that Amazon to cover the COVID-19 vaccine cost in India.
