The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has revealed that 2.6 million Brits have bought cryptocurrency, with significant growth over the last year.

According to information, 80% of the crypto asset wealth is estimated to be held by 1% of the UK’s population.

At the same time, 77% of people in the UK bought crypto assets through exchanges, whereas 23% obtained them another way.

Only 5% of them used UK-based exchanges, while 83% used non-UK based exchanges. 12% of them used both UK and non-UK crypto exchanges.

When asked about keeping crypto, 24% and 34% of adults held crypto assets offline or moved them to another online wallet, respectively. 46% prefer storing crypto at the exchange they bought them from.

The research also highlighted that 27% of Brits used cryptocurrency to purchase goods and services.
