National Identity Number (NIN) verification is currently unavailable in Nigeria.

This comes as the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) alerts the public of the unavailability of the service, albeit temporary.

As the service provider works to restore the verification service, the public is advised to utilize the tokenization verification platform. The maintenance service is being undertaken by a NIMC network service provider.

The tokenization verification platform is an online real-time service where entities that need the verification services can access the NIMC database. It tracks usage and also connects clients to the verification backend.

Once NIMC concludes the maintenance, the verification and authentication services will be restored. The update comes as NIMC apologizes for any inconveniences caused.

We’ve reported that QR remittances are now enabled between Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia.
