Visa has partnered card provider CPI Card Group to issue the Earthwise High Content Card made of nearly 98% recycled plastic.

Along with that, the survey has found that 57% of respondents would like to have a card made of upcycled materials.

The new eco-friendly card is expected to reduce plastic waste when it comes to getting a payment card.

According to information, all financial institutions that issue Visa cards will be initially provided with access to the Earthwise High Content Card. The new card is EMV compliant and dual interface capable, supporting both contact and contactless payment.

We’ve reported that GoHenry has recently unveiled its sustainable debit card, made from a renewable material called polylactic acid (PLA). Unlike most cards, which are made from petroleum, coal, and crude oils, PLA is derived from field corn.
