It is enough to tap your bank card or smartphone to get to a city (or just travel around), and it became possible due to Mastercard Transit Solutions. More than 150 cities worldwide already use this solution.

Mexico City, Milan, and Kaohsiung (Taiwan) have joined the list of cities that already use this solution.

Subways worldwide carry no less than 170 million passengers every day. And the number of passengers will only increase. That’s why it is so vital to improve the speed and reliability of transit services, and this issue still remains a thorny topic for a majority (59%, to be accurate) of cities’ inhabitants.

The Technology for Users

MasterCard realizes that today it is very important to understand how to implement real solutions and make them accessible for public use. The card issuing company partners with countries, transit agencies and technology firms, and has been developing adjustable transit solutions for almost ten years. Thus, MasterCard is one of the leaders of the mobility services field.

By partnering with Microsoft, HERE Technologies, Cubic Transportation Systems, Masabi, and Vix Technology, the company leads the way in solving multiple issues, such as mobility, and carries this out as comprehensively as possible.

The Right Transit Solution for every City

Since increasing numbers of people travel to cities for work or leisure, urban areas seek any possibility of finding appropriate ways to consider demands across their public transit networks. Mastercard knows how to determine solutions for the particular needs of densely populated cities, taking into account infrastructures, budget issues, and timeframes.
