Picnic has opened its second fulfillment center in Herne, Germany, according to Ecommerce News. Dutch supermarket has been working to adapt its logistics to the increased demand the coronavirus is currently spreading across Europe.

As a result, with the government’s help, Picnic was able to quickly complete its new fulfillment center in Herne.

With the significantly increased capacities, we will be able to supply more customers in our current delivery areas and we will also be able to deliver to more locations in North Rhine-Westphalia in the near future

Besides, the demand for Picnic deliveries has more than doubled amid the coronavirus outbreak. As a result, the company has already hired over 200 new employees in March.
