According to Ecommerce News, logistics firm DSV will invest about €270 million in a new logistics center.

It will become Europe’s largest with just one leaseholder, covering 700,000 square meters. The office will cover 18,000 square meters whereas the cross-docking terminal will occupy about 50,000 square meters. The warehousing facilities will comprise between 200,000 and 269,000 square meters.

The company states it wants to consolidate its warehouse and cross-docking terminals in Horsens city by building a new, future-proof logistics center.

In DSV, we focus on growing our business. As part of our growth strategy, we want to consolidate all our activities within Air & Sea, Road, and Solutions in one location to ensure that our operations are efficient and that we provide the best possible solutions to our customersrn

We’ve reported that logistics company Whistl has launched a local test in the UK to help online retailers with low volumes. There, Whistl will collect parcels from local online retailers and consolidate them at its new and existing micro hubs. Afterward, it will pass the parcels over to their logistics partners for delivery to the consumers.
