The new solution is expected to accelerate e-commerce in the region and boost its own profitability
According to Ecommerce News, Cdiscount will launch an online marketplace solution that can be used by other retailers.
The complete solution, which takes care of technology, offer, and logistics, enables physical and online retailers to develop their own marketplace operations.
This way, Cdiscount’s B2B customers will be able to create a marketplace and get access to the company’s catalog of 100 million products offered by 13,000 French and international sellers.
The data reveals that global e-commerce growth has been driven by marketplaces over the last 5 years with annual growth of 21%. That’s a significant difference comparing that to just 9% growth for traditional retail websites during the same period.
Cdiscount says that the solution will be deployed primarily in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
We’ve reported that eBay will expand payment management for merchants in Greater China, as part of modernizing its marketplace and creating a more streamlined customer experience.
