Ecommerce News, since ManoMano raised €125 million, it is ready to expand its influence across Europe. This way, the company focused attention on Germany, which has a market that’s dominated by Amazon.

ManoMano revealed that the fresh funding will be used for its further expansion in Germany, where home improvement retailers generate annual revenue of €50 billion.

Last year, we grew by 121% compared to the year before and we achieved a trade volume of €43 million

It has been stated that a lot of customers buy their drills or shower cabinets on Amazon, although this global marketplace is not known for its expertise. Big home improvement retailers on the other hand are, but they entered the e-commerce business relatively late.

One of ManoMano’s peculiar advantages is that it makes use of so-called ‘Manodvisors’. These are experts, often retired hardware store employees or enthusiastic hobby DIYers, who help customers with their purchase. If a purchase takes place, the Manodvisor receives a commission. Just to mention, in 2019 there were more than 1 million conversations between these consultants and customers.

For now, the French startup collaborates with over 400 German merchants. They managed to generate a business volume of €7 million on the international platforms last year. Furthermore, there are currently 4 million products on its platform, of which more than a million are available for German users.
