Fashion retailer Zalando will expand its relatively new beauty category in Europe, Ecommerce News reports. Over the next two months, the German e-commerce company will start selling its beauty products in Sweden, Denmark, France, Belgium and Italy.

Zalando is transforming from an online retailer into an online fashion and beauty platform. Part of that strategy is the beauty category, introduced in March last year.

After it launched Beauty on Zalando across Germany, Austria and Poland last year, the company is now expanding across Europe. Since this week, customers from Sweden and Denmark can shop beauty products at Zalando, while France and Belgium will follow later this month. And Italy will sell beauty products somewhere in April.

Aside from launching the beauty sector in more markets across Europe, Zalando also further expanded its collaboration with The Estée Lauder Companies. It adds eight brands from their portfolio to the beauty assortment in the German Zalando webshop and will include several of these brands in the roll-out of Beauty in the newly added markets.
