Asda promises to provide two-day home delivery
According to Ecommerce News, Asda rolled out a new online platform where it sells food boxes, thus reaching out to vulnerable shoppers.
The data found that the food box deliveries will be handled independently from the UK retailer’s core delivery operations. It means that the already overstretched logistics from the supermarket won’t be affected by this new initiative.
As to the food box, it contains 31 items that proved to be popular among British shoppers during the lockdown. Items include bread, pasta, tinned goods, milk, and teabags. The box costs more than €34, with the delivery included.
We’ve reported that Sainsbury’s has launched Volunteer Shopping Cards, enabling customers to shop on behalf of people who can’t shop for themselves, including the elderly, disabled, and vulnerable.
According to the statement, customers who cannot shop for themselves should just visit the website and select how much they’d like to spend on their weekly shop, between £5 and £250.
