Zalando’s all-around service Zalando Plus will soon be available in more countries across Europe. The fashion retailer’s loyalty scheme is already available for customers in Germany and Switzerland, but in the next twelve months, France and Italy will join, Ecommerce News reports.

Zalando Plus is a fashion service, launched by Europe’s biggest online-only fashion retailer in August 2017 (under the name Zalando Zet). The pilot started in Berlin, Leipzig, Frankfurt and Hannover, but now the service is available throughout Germany.

Currently, a pilot project is live in Switzerland, but the e-commerce company announced that France and Italy will follow within the next twelve months. That would mean the loyalty program will be available in four countries in Europe by 2020.

With Zalando Plus, the German fashion giant wants to make the shopping experience of dedicated customers more convenient. For example, instead of having to go to the post office to return a parcel, Zalando Plus members can choose a two-hour window and have their returns picked up at their preferred location.

Zalando Plus members are also the first to hear about sales and campaigns, they get exclusive deals and in some cities, they can receive the items they have ordered on the same day (in other areas, they get premium delivery within one or two days).

Zalando is of course not the only major online retailer who runs a loyalty program. The most famous one is probably Amazon Prime. This subscription service has boosted customer loyalty and encourages shoppers to buy at Amazon more frequently. Recently, H&M has also expanded its loyalty program, with plans to add the service in seven more markets by the end of this year.
