Guiyang, the capital of China’s Guizhou province, has introduced a new face verification ticketing system. It allows passengers to board buses and subway without showing a ticket, a card, or a smartphone.

Chinese users need to download a mobile app and register on it. Afterward, they can verify their ID verification on self-registration terminals and take the subway or buses by having their faces scanned.

We’ve reported that iProov has introduced a facial biometric corridor that enables contactless journeys. Passengers using Eurostar railway services will be the first to take advantage of this new solution.

The walk-through system will allow customers to complete ticket checks eliminating the need to come into contact with people or hardware.
