Google Cloud has announced the launch of Product Discovery Solutions for Retail. It is a suite of solutions designed to help retailers around the world expand their e-commerce capabilities and deliver personalized consumer experiences in their first shopping phase.

With Google Cloud’s Product Discovery Solutions for Retail, retailers can perform continuous search and recommendation features. That would help to increase consumer engagement and improve conversions in their digital retail properties.

Google Cloud’s Product Discovery Solutions for Retail includes Recommendations AI, which allows retailers to deliver personalized product recommendations at scale and across all channels.

The solution can piece together a customer’s purchase journey history and provide them with customized product recommendations. AI recommendations leverage the latest Google Cloud’s ML architectures. Therefore, retailers can dynamically adapt to user behavior and changes in real-time.

The Vision API Product Search allows shoppers to search for products with an image and receive a ranked list of visually and semantically similar products. Vision Product Search uses ML-based object recognition and searches to provide real-time results for similar or complementary products from a retailer’s product catalog. The Google Cloud Vision API Product Search is generally available to all businesses.

Google Cloud Search for Retail, available in Private Preview mode, pulls from Google’s high understanding of user intent and context. That ensures retailers with product search functionality that can be implanted into their websites and mobile apps.

We’ve reported that Google is testing a shopping feature for YouTube.
