Apple, eBay, Samsung, and Sprint signed a joint agreement on purchasing power from a wind farm, owned by Apex Clean Energy. It produces approximately 75 megawatts of clean energy, enough to power about 20,000 homes.

Apple gathered other leading technology companies to dedicate common efforts to the project facilitated by 3Degrees. This way, all of them get access to cost-effective low-carbon renewable energy. The whole project, called 500-MW Mesa Wind, is expected to run in 2021 in Crockett County, TX.

Powering all operations around the world with renewable energy brings Apple, eBay, Samsung, and Sprint to the advanced level of collaboration. It is all about the importance of resolving the common problem and going towards a clean future.

This project marks another step toward reaching our corporate goal of reducing Sprint’s carbon footprint. We are also greening our supply chain by partnering with some of our key suppliers on this innovative shared energy purchase
Chas Peterson, Vice President of Procurement for Sprint

According to eBay’s spokesperson, this new initiative is an important step in advancing the company’s commitment to reaching 100% renewable energy by 2025.
