ClearScore has entered the mortgage market by acquiring UK-based mortgage technology provider Acre Platforms, reinforcing its expansion into digital home lending amid rising demand for online mortgage services.

ClearScore Group, the UK-based financial marketplace known for its free credit score and credit-matching services, has acquired Acre Platforms Limited, a London-based mortgage technology provider. The acquisition marks ClearScore’s formal entry into the mortgage industry and strengthens its ability to offer home-lending solutions as consumer preference shifts toward digital finance.
Acre Platforms delivers a technology platform used by mortgage brokers, including CRM, mortgage sourcing, case management, and affordability data tools. The platform is designed to streamline the mortgage process by improving efficiency, reducing manual tasks, and connecting brokers to lender networks and insights.
The deal brings strategic value to ClearScore by integrating mortgage capabilities into its existing ecosystem of financial products. ClearScore serves millions of users in multiple markets, helping customers find credit cards, loans, insurance, and other financial products through data-driven recommendations. Adding mortgage services expands the company’s product suite and deepens engagement with users throughout their financial journey.
The acquisition also enables ClearScore to route its customer demand to Acre’s established broker network, providing users with quicker access to home-buying support and advice. With digital mortgage adoption accelerating globally, this capability aligns ClearScore with key industry trends. Recent data suggest that 65% of homebuyers now prefer digital mortgage processes over traditional methods, and that over half of mortgage applications are completed digitally, up from much lower levels in past years. Digital channels are increasingly integral to onboarding, document management, and affordability verification, with many lenders reporting improved customer satisfaction after implementing digital solutions.
Industry forecasts also highlight the continued growth of digital mortgage tools. In markets like the UK, digital adoption is supported by modern fintech ecosystems and open banking frameworks that streamline income verification and borrower communication. European digital mortgage platforms are projected to expand significantly, contributing to improved processing times and reduced operational costs.
ClearScore has previously expanded its financial services through acquisitions, including its purchase of Aro Finance in 2025, and the integration of embedded finance offerings. The addition of Acre Platforms is positioned as a continuation of this strategy, enabling the company to deliver more comprehensive digital financial services.
By bringing mortgage technology in-house, ClearScore aims to enhance its competitive position in an industry where digital platforms are increasingly preferred by both borrowers and lenders.
