Ingenico, Samsung, and Talus Introduce Mobile Business Operating Solution in North America

Ingenico, a global provider of payment acceptance solutions, Samsung Electronics America, Inc., and Talus, a fintech provider of integrated payment technology, have partnered to introduce a mobile business operating solution to the North American market. The solution enables secure contactless payments using standard NFC-compatible Samsung mobile devices without the need for dedicated payment hardware.

The collaboration combines Ingenico’s SoftPOS tap-to-pay capabilities with the Talus mobile application to transform NFC-enabled Samsung smartphones and tablets into payment terminals. This approach expands access to mobile payment acceptance for a range of business types, from small and mid-sized enterprises to larger organizations, and supports both in-store and field-based transactions.

In addition to payment acceptance, the integrated platform offers features for inventory management, customer tracking, and real-time business insights within a unified interface. Onboarding is designed to be straightforward, with transparent pricing and quick setup, allowing businesses to begin processing payments within minutes and reducing costs associated with hardware and deployment.

The solution is compliant with PCI MPoC and Tap-to-Phone security frameworks, supporting secure contactless transactions. Talus provides full-service provider support and U.S.-based customer service around the clock.

SoftPOS (software-based point-of-sale) adoption in North America is growing. The region accounts for a significant 30–35% share of the global SoftPOS market. At the same time, not all SoftPOS solutions are accessible to common merchants. According to a recent survey in North America, only about 5% of local merchants were using a SoftPOS solution, leaving considerable room for growth. Projections suggest the number of merchants worldwide using SoftPOS could grow nearly five-fold by 2027. The situation in North America may be similar to global forecasts as well, given the availability of relevant solutions.

Representatives from all three partner organizations highlighted the importance of combining secure payment technology with familiar mobile devices to improve flexibility and operational efficiency for merchants. The solution is being showcased at NRF 2026: Retail’s Big Show in New York City, where interested merchants, resellers, and system integrators can schedule demonstrations.

Ingenico continues to serve a global customer base with a broad portfolio of payment solutions across multiple countries, while Talus supports integrated payment services for thousands of merchants across North America.
