Binance announced that it has partnered with the Ukrainian supermarket chain VARUS. The exchange will enable cryptocurrency payments for grocery purchases through its Binance Pay Wallet. Besides, the first customers who will try the new form of payment will participate in a cashback promotion.

VARUS grocery store is one of the largest retailers in Ukraine with over 111 stores across 28 cities nationwide. The partnership will allow its customers to access instant cryptocurrency payments and fast delivery in 9 cities. Those are Kyiv, Dnipro, Kamianske, Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia, Brovary, Nikopol, Vyshhorod, and Pavlograd.

Under a “reward fund promotion”, customers who order anything from the VARUS Delivery program worth over UAH 500 until October 15 and pay with Binance Pay, will receive a cashback of UAH 100. In addition, there will be a weekly giveaway. Five randomly selected buyers who registered for the promotion will receive a reward of UAH 5000.

The initiative is not the first in Ukraine to enable retail crypto purchases. Thus, Ukrainian POS and crypto payments company Whitepay has recently launched a new program that enabled Ukrainians to purchase electronics and other products with cryptocurrency.
