The Ethereum Foundation plans to spend $30 million on key projects across the ecosystem
The Ethereum Foundation’s team shared information on progress happening across the community and announced its plan for the next year on its official blog.
Today, the Foundation holds approximately 0.6% of all ETH, as well as reserves held in cash. These resources are intended to decrease over time, as they are invested in critical work across the ecosystem. The team is also working to grow the Ethereum ecosystem’s funding base. This means encouraging other organizations to support high-priority projects, and supporting innovative mechanisms for funding, including Gitcoin grants and MolochDAO.
Over the next year, the Ethereum Foundation plans to spend $30 million on key projects across the ecosystem. This budget is insulated against downward ETH price movement. The team describes three primary categories of resource allocation: Building the Ethereum of tomorrow ($19 million), Supporting the Ethereum of today ($8 million), and Developer Growth & Awareness ($3 million).
