Huawei users in Italy can now add their PagoBancomat payment card to a Huawei Pay digital wallet and use it to make in-store NFC mobile payments, as reported by Intesa Sanpaolo. The bank belongs to the leading banking group in Italy, with 13.5 million customers and approximately 3,700 branches.

PagoBancomat network is an interbank network for cash withdrawals with associated debit cards widely used in Italy. The bank is the first in both Italy and Europe to support the Huawei payment solution.

Overall, Huawei Pay is a digital wallet that allows customers to store and use bank, transportation, access and loyalty cards, as well as coupons, all in one place. It first launched in China in 2018, supporting both QR codes and NFC.

Besides, Huawei Pay also went live in Russia, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Germany, Austria, South Africa and Pakistan.
