Swedish furniture store chain Ikea has launched its official online store for the Luxembourgian market, Ecommerce News reports. The launch in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg follows one year after Ikea opened an online store in Belgium.

Previously, Luxembourgers had to order their Billy closets and other furniture through the Belgian or German ecommerce websites.

Customers in Luxembourg now can also choose for delivery at home. Previously, they could only choose for the click & collect option, which meant they had to collect their items in the Ikea store in the Belgian city of Aarlen, as the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg has no physical Ikea stores at all.

When Ikea delivers furniture and other items that were ordered online at the Luxembourgers’ homes, the items will come from Aarlen as well.

The launch of Ikea’s online store in Luxembourg follows one year after the Swedish company opened a dedicated online store in Belgium. This business started somewhat slow, Zita De Coninck, e-commerce manager at Ikea Belgium, admitted. But now the company is happy with the results: 3.4% of its revenue in Belgium was generated through its online store.
