Klarna has announced the launch of its new fixed-term deposit offer “Festgeld+” for German customers in the app.

To start saving, consumers need to open a Klarna bank account in the latest version of the app, deposit money from an external account and transfer the needed amount to their savings account.

With Fixed Deposit+, consumers have the choice between 4 maturities with effective annual interest rates of up to 1.15% and can start saving from €1.

The Klarna app is the Swiss army knife of consumer apps. You can take care of your daily banking transactions very quickly, easily keep an eye on payments, shop at your favorite shops and now also earn outstanding interest on your savings - all in the Klarna app. Combined with our budgeting tools and spend analytics, the Klarna app makes typically boring and tedious money management a breeze, helping consumers take control of their finances and develop smart habits

In Germany, Festgeld+ will complement Klarna’s existing desktop fixed deposit offering and partnership with deposit marketplace Raisin.

For extra security, Klarna provides biometric login with fingerprint or face recognition for additional security.

Festgeldplus+ is the first of a series of new financial management features that will follow in 2022.

We’ve reported that Italy-based retailer plans to launch its own marketplace.
