Lyft announced that it has filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with the US Securities and Exchange Commission relating to a proposed initial public offering of shares of its Class A common stock.

The number of shares to be offered and the price range for the proposed offering could change.

Lyft has applied to list its common stock on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol “LYFT”.

The IPO is likely to take place by the end of March.

According to the company’s data, Lyft controlled 39% of the US ride-sharing market in December 2018.
