The number of Bitcoin investors has tripled in the US since 2018, according to Gallup.

This comes as younger investors in the country gain more interest, awareness and ownership in the last three years. The number of Bitcoin investors has increased from 2% in 2018 to 6% in July 2021.

The number of investors (adults who hold approximately $10,000 in bonds, stocks or mutual funds) over the age of 50 has jumped from 3% in 2018 to 13%. However, Bitcoin ownership is lower (3%) for investors over 50. This is an increase from 1% in 2018.

The survey has found that 84% of the investors invested in mutual funds or stock index funds, 67% own individual stocks while 50% own stocks.

Over the past three years, the risk perception of Bitcoin has declined. While almost all investors perceive BTC as a risky investment, the percentage has reduced from 75% to 60%. 35% of the investors consider BTC investments to be somewhat risky while 5% think the investments carry no risks.

At the same time, over 80% of wealth managers and hedge funds already hold crypto-assets and plan on increasing them.

We’ve reported that UK investors aim to increase their monthly investments.
