Polish startup PayEye enables contactless payments by scanning an iris. It operates under the license of the Polish Supervision Authority and has the status of a small payment institution.

There are currently more than 20 points where customers can use the PayEye service, according to information.

The whole payment system is based on the unique iris pattern of the human eye. Along with that, the PayEye ecosystem is independent and safe and consists of proprietary, PayEye payment devices, an e-wallet for users, and algorithms converting the iris into a biometric pattern.

We’ve reported that Monzo has announced the pilot of a new open banking payment solution that enables customers to easier transfer funds from other bank accounts.
