The number of people biking in the US has increased from 45 million in 2015 to 45.7 million in 2017
Uber on behalf of PeopleForBikes, the North American Bikeshare Association and the League of American Bicyclists wrote a letter urging the House Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure to reconsider road safety.
City Mobility Campaign is a result of the appeal, that is helping to create and support legislation at the state, local and federal levels. It aims to increase funding for infrastructure so that cyclists and pedestrians feel protected. In addition to that, Uber also supporting legislation that would help ensure the expansion of improved bike infrastructure and unlock funding for bicycle-friendly policies.
Uber is making available a free data tool that will combine JUMP bike volume with a complete city street view. It gives cities and citizens an opportunity to understand and advocate for the best bike infrastructure possible. This way, users will be able to compare weekday and weekend volume, improving road safety.
