EKM has introduced a new product for helping small businesses reach their local customers, according to Ecommerce News. This solution is called Obodo which offers a free online shop for local brick and mortar businesses.

The report found that while online sales rise, companies that don’t have an online sales channel are struggling to keep their businesses.

While we have seen a lot of online small businesses thrive in the Covid-19 era, unfortunately, we have also seen many brick and mortar local businesses shut their doors with no way to reach their customers. We decided to use the resources we have and do something to help those struggling businesses

Obodo is based on the existing EKM infrastructure and is aimed at local businesses mostly serving customers within 25 km of their store.

Thanks to the new solution, they can upload products, take payments, and provide delivery and click & collect services in the local area.

We’ve reported that large grocery chain Coop and postal company Posten Norge launched grocery home deliveries across Norway. They teamed up to deliver groceries to those who can’t go to stores during the lockdown restrictions.
