The release of the Nissan GT-R50 coincided in time with two anniversaries – the half-century anniversary of the sports car itself and the Italdesign body shop. It’s never too late to revisit how Nissan got the idea to create a limited-edition model and what was eventually shown at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex, England, UK.
All Great Things Begin in Geneva
It all began when Nissan’s Vice President of Design, Alphonse Albaisa, was invited to the Italdesign stand at the Geneva Motor Show 2017, where representatives of the legendary workshop invited him to celebrate the double anniversary with a joint project.

It’s time to take a look inside the Nissan GT-R50. Its interior is befitting of its supercar status: high-quality black leather, Alcántara upholstery, carbon fiber inserts, and gold-colored elements are mixed in ideal proportions.
The Nissan GT-R50 has received improved traction, resulting in a highly dynamic driving experience for happy owners. Nissan has found a way to optimize the 3.8-liter V6 engine to produce 720 hp. This whole herd of wild horses gallops through an improved transmission.
From the Workshop and Track to the Roads
This outstanding sports car had a high-profile premiere at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. On July 12, 2018, famous sports drivers Lucas Ordóñez and Alex Duncombe tested the Nissan GT-R50 on the dedicated racetrack.
The model was then released in a limited edition – only 50 copies from the Italdesign studio have hit the roads. Each supercar was built taking into account the wishes of its owners.
