AliExpress Welcomes U.S. Retailers to Its Direct Platform

AliExpress, part of the Alibaba International Digital Commerce Group, has announced the launch of its AliExpressDirect initiative, providing an opportunity for American retailers to expand their target audience through the platform.

The new solution is designed to assist local businesses in their international growth by allowing them to tap into AliExpress’ vast customer base. During the introductory phase of the initiative, U.S. sellers will be encouraged to join with additional benefits like 0% commission and no onboarding fees. Additionally, AliExpress will offer them free support in marketing, business operations, and customer service, including handling buyer inquiries and after-sales disputes.

Local retailers can easily set up their shops on AliExpress through a straightforward and flexible process. Thus, sellers can quickly launch their stores using a one-click design template and can list thousands of SKUs at once with multi-product listing capabilities. The platform further offers features that improve shop management, including tools for optimising product listings, pricing, transparent tracking, and promotions.

Starting in 2025, an additional API integration to AliExpressDirect will enable seamless synchronisation of product listings, inventory, orders, and returns with existing systems, facilitating an omnichannel approach.

For U.S. consumers, shopping from local sellers on AliExpress would provide a wider range of available products, including popular brands and trending items. Additionally, customers can enjoy benefits such as shorter delivery times, hassle-free returns, and prompt customer support.

Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group is currently using generative artificial intelligence technology to step up its efforts to scale operations globally. In September, it presented more than 100 new models of artificial intelligence with open-source code.
