Alipay, the payment app owned by fintech giant Ant Group, has launched a new feature powered by artificial intelligence.
The mentioned feature, dubbed Tanyixia, generates information from images uploaded by users as part of the latest move aimed at securing Alipay’s position as a super app for the Chinese internet space.
As part of the new function, consumers can scan or upload pictures to receive information about such topics as plants, animals, food, cartoon characters, and others. Also, in this case, users can translate menus or drug instructions.
There is the process of building additional reasons for expanding the user base of the app.
According to data from Alipay, as of Tuesday morning, December 31, the new feature has been accessed by more than 20,000 people.
Alipay was created 20 years ago as a payment service for Alibaba’s Taobao online marketplaces. Over time, the brand has transformed into one of the most frequently used apps by Chinese consumers. Also, for some users, Alipay is a lifestyle platform.
The launch of the new feature by the mentioned app is another example of scaling up the practice of using artificial intelligence. In this context, it is worth noting separately that, against the background of the active development of AI, the issue of cybersecurity has become more relevant. Scammers also have access to artificial intelligence, which is why their algorithms have become more sophisticated. To counteract the corresponding threat in cyberspace, personal awareness of users is important. For example, an Internet search query such as how to know if my camera is hacked will allow anyone to get information about signs of unauthorized access to the device.
