AsiaPay & UATP Unite to Support Rising Digital Payment Demand in Asia

Through integration with UATP Ceptor gateway, AsiaPay can reach hundreds of airlines and travel merchants worldwide.

AsiaPay & UATP Unite to Support Rising Digital Payment Demand in Asia

UATP, the global payment network, has entered into a partnership with AsiaPay, a leading electronic payment service and technology provider in the Asia-Pacific region.

The integration enables UATP merchants, including airlines and travel agencies, to add AsiaPay-supported payment methods without additional integration or reconciliation efforts, as the latter will connect directly to UATP’s Ceptor, the company’s Alternative Form of Payment (AFP) processing platform.

AsiaPay operates across 17 markets in the Asia-Pacific region, with local presence in regions such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, and China, providing localized expertise and support. At the same time, it doesn’t have the extensive reach in the airline and travel verticals, which are UATP’s target markets.

UATP’s network is focused on airlines, corporate travel accounts, and alternative payment methods (AFPs), mostly used in Europe and North America. By integrating AsiaPay’s regional coverage, UATP instantly gains access to a huge range of APAC digital wallets and local payment options (like GCash in the Philippines, MoMo in Vietnam, Touch ‘n Go in Malaysia, LINE Pay in Taiwan, etc.).

This expansion aims to enhance customer experience, streamline reconciliation processes, and support rising demand for digital payments in Asia’s fast-growing markets, where online/mobile wallets and super-apps dominate payment landscapes.

The partnership removes friction for all ecosystem participants. Airlines, OTAs, and travel merchants connected to UATP can now switch on AsiaPay’s payments instantly, with consolidated settlement and reporting. Travelers, meanwhile, get to pay with their local, familiar payment methods when booking flights or hotels. It is especially important in APAC countries as they use less of international payment methods, relying more on local digital wallet and QR payment infrastructure which are not often supported by global providers.
