AWS to Invest $10 Billion in UK Data Centres

It is currently known that the mentioned financing will be directed to the construction, operation, and maintenance of data centers.

AWS, one of the largest players in the global technology sector, expects that the implementation of its investment project will add 14 billion pounds to the gross domestic product (GDP) of the United Kingdom by the end of 2028. Also in this case, it is predicted that the project will support more than 14,000 jobs in the UK businesses.

It is worth noting that Amazon, which, among other things, owns the best American delivery service, has already demonstrated what can be called an investment interest in the United Kingdom. Since 2022, AWS has made financial injections of 3 billion pounds into facilities located in London and Manchester.

Tanuja Randery, a managing director at AWS, said during a conversation with media representatives that the team of this brand, which builds data centers around the world, takes into account many factors that affect the specifics of the location and operation of the relevant facilities. Also in this context, it was noted that the use of artificial intelligence stimulates the demand for cloud services.

AWS is currently making large-scale investments in Europe. This year, the brand announced financial injections of 15.7 billion euros ($17.2 billion) to Spain. Also in 2024, AWS invested 7.8 billion euros in Germany.
