Blink Payment has launched a new Card Present API designed to help Integrated Software Vendors (ISVs) and merchants seamlessly integrate in-person payments with real-time reporting into their platforms for unified commerce experiences.

Blink Payment Unveils Card Present API to Simplify In-Person Payment Integration for ISVs

UK payment technology platform Blink Payment launched its Card Present API as a solution to challenges around terminal setup, integrations, compliance, and ongoing maintenance arising while building bespoke card-present capabilities.

For ISVs, this process has typically been slow, costly, and complex. The new cloud-based Card Present API is positioned as a direct answer to these obstacles. Once connected, Blink Payment manages terminal provisioning, connectivity, and support, helping partners avoid lengthy development cycles and operational headaches.

The company noted that in-person payments have often been the missing component in unified commerce strategies, and that ISVs commonly struggle to build and manage these capabilities themselves.

Blink Payment said the new API eliminates these pain points and marks an important step forward both for the company and its ISV partners looking to deliver fully connected, modern payment experiences without months of integration work. According to Blink Payment, the solution also supports faster merchant decision-making, reduces reconciliation effort, and enables businesses to understand performance in real time.

For merchants, a key benefit is instant, real-time reporting of in-person transactions. Typically, card-present transactions may take one to three business days to appear, slowing reconciliation processes and day-to-day operational efficiency. With Blink Payment’s API, online and in-person transactions appear side by side across both the ISV’s platform and the Blink Payment platform, removing the need to reconcile channels separately and supporting a seamless omnichannel experience.

At launch, the Card Present API will operate on two popular Verifone Android-based terminals, the T650p and P630. Terminals are fully configured and connected through Blink Payment, with no separate Verifone setup required for merchants.
