Bybit to Launch Retail Bank Accounts with Personal IBANs in February

Bybit, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, announced plans to launch retail bank accounts under a new service called MyBank powered by Bybit. The service is scheduled for February 2026, pending regulatory approval, and will allow verified users to hold personal International Bank Account Numbers (IBANs).

The accounts aim to bridge traditional banking and crypto, enabling users to deposit and withdraw fiat currency, make payments, and transfer funds across banks in multiple currencies. Bybit plans to support U.S. dollars at launch, with intentions to expand to up to 18 fiat currencies in the future.

Bybit has partnered with banks including Qatar National Bank, DMZ Finance, and Pave Bank to facilitate the new accounts. Users will need to complete Know Your Customer (KYC) verification before accessing the service, ensuring regulatory compliance and secure account management.

The company said the accounts will allow customers to manage fiat alongside crypto holdings more efficiently. Users will be able to convert between fiat and digital currencies, receive salaries, and make payments directly through their personal IBANs. Bybit’s goal is to make cross-border transfers faster and more cost-effective than existing methods.

Bybit’s leadership emphasized that the move reflects the company’s effort to expand into financial services beyond trading. Reports indicate that the accounts are designed to combine the convenience of a digital bank with the flexibility of cryptocurrency, offering a new way for retail users to interact with both fiat and digital assets.

Industry observers see the development as a step toward integrating crypto platforms with traditional banking infrastructure. Bybit’s approach may serve as a model for other exchanges exploring regulated banking services.

The launch of MyBank accounts positions Bybit to strengthen its presence in global financial services, providing users with more direct access to funds and bridging the gap between cryptocurrency and everyday banking. The company has highlighted its commitment to regulatory compliance, operational security, and expanding user options through this new retail banking initiative.
