Crypto Network Mesh Reaches Unicorn Status with $1 Billion Valuation

Mesh, a global crypto payments network, has officially reached unicorn status after closing a $75 million Series C funding round. The round brings the company’s total funding to more than $200 million and positions Mesh among the most highly valued firms building foundational crypto infrastructure.

The Series C round was led by Dragonfly Capital and included participation from prominent investors such as Paradigm, Moderne Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, SBI Investment, and Liberty City Ventures. Analysts view the backing from both crypto-native and traditional venture capital firms as a sign of confidence in Mesh’s technology and market potential.

Its earlier funding rounds included substantial backing from PayPal and Coinbase, with total investments secured over a dozen venture fundraising events as of 2025 surpassing $130 million.

Mesh provides a unified infrastructure layer for crypto payments, aiming to simplify how businesses and consumers send and receive digital assets. Its platform supports payments in any cryptocurrency, with options for settlement in stablecoins or fiat currencies. The network also enables cross-chain interoperability and provides a single interface for merchants and users, reducing the complexity often associated with multiple wallets and blockchain networks.

Industry observers say Mesh’s approach to “any-to-any” payments, allowing users to pay with one asset and settle in another, addresses a critical bottleneck in the digital asset ecosystem. Reports indicate that the company already reaches more than 900 million users globally through partnerships with wallets, exchanges, and financial services platforms.

The new funding is intended to accelerate global expansion, particularly in markets such as Latin America, Asia, and Europe. Mesh plans to enhance its products, including SmartFunding payments technology, that helps automate how funds are sourced and settled when someone makes a payment with crypto, and grow its engineering and compliance teams. Additionally, the capital will support improvements to its APIs, making integration easier for merchants and fintech partners.

Reaching a $1 billion valuation highlights investor interest in crypto infrastructure firms rather than token-focused projects. By establishing a robust payments network, Mesh aims to facilitate digital asset adoption for real-world commerce and cross-border payments.

The company’s leadership said the Series C milestone positions Mesh to expand its global footprint and strengthen partnerships with merchants and fintech platforms. With unicorn status achieved, Mesh is set to advance its mission of building a universal crypto payments network that bridges traditional and digital finance.
