Discover Financial Services and Telered, the main operator of electronic transactions and payment methods in Panama, have entered into a partnership aimed at improving the quality of payment operations for residents of the mentioned country, local merchants, and visitors.
As part of the specified strategic alliance, Telered will integrate with the Discover Global Network through Sistema Clave, an interbank network of ATMs and points of sale in Panama. The relevant information is contained in the joint press release of the companies.
Alejandro Orestano, vice president of international markets at Discover, stated that Discover Global Network is bringing wide global acceptance, increased security, and technology to Sistema Clave while gaining acceptance access to Panama’s full network of merchants for its own global cardholders.
The press release also noted that the implementation of the partnership will allow Sistema Clave users to make purchases and payment transactions in more than 70 million global acceptance locations. Moreover, in this case, the relevant services are available in online merchants and on streaming platforms. Moreover, users are also provided with the opportunity to withdraw cash from 1.8 million ATMs worldwide on the Discover network.
Discover Global Network cardholders will be able to transact at Telered merchants in Panama.
For merchants in Panama, the partnership between the two companies will enable transactions with more than 345 million cardholders from around the world, including those from Discover Network and more than 25 strategic alliances.
