The Forum Invest in Senegal (Fii Senegal 2025) wrapped up on a high note, securing $23.5 billion in investor commitments and signing 51 agreements across vital sectors of the economy. The results underscore growing global confidence in Senegal, now recognized as a strategic gateway for Africa’s growth.

“The world needs a stable, competitive, and credible African partner. Senegal is ready,” stated Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, as he closed the second edition of the forum, which attracted over 11,700 participants from 70 countries.

Key announcements included commitments from international institutions, notably the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the World Bank, totaling $160 million to support national priorities:

  • Agricultural transformation and digitization of subsidies with the Ministry of Agriculture;

  • Expansion of agricultural insurance to 200,000 smallholder farmers, including 30% women, through CNAAS;

  • A public-private partnership with ONAS to build a wastewater treatment plant, improving sanitation access for 600,000 people;

  • Islamic financing initiatives targeting SMEs and women-led businesses, expected to generate 7,000 jobs.

The Prime Minister highlighted the government’s focus on enhancing competitiveness via structural reforms, including a new Investment Code, updates to the tax and customs codes, and full digitization of administrative procedures. He urged economic actors to “be the builders of tomorrow’s economy.”

Bakary Séga Bathily, Director General of APIX, praised the forum’s progress: “The agreements reached here will translate into real opportunities for our population and lasting partnerships for the country. That is the very spirit of the forum’s theme: Connecting opportunities, building the future.”
