With the full integration of GoCardless within the Cloud Market Tools suite, MSP businesses can manage collections and reconciliations without leaving their routine billing system.
Giacom, a UK-based cloud services distributor, has announced an integration of its flagship Cloud Market Tools billing platform with GoCardless, a fintech company that specialises in account-to-account (A2A) recurring payments.
This integration allows Managed Service Providers (MSPs), companies that remotely manage a customer’s IT infrastructure and end-user systems, to automate the collection of recurring payments directly from customers’ bank accounts. It simplifies billing for cloud services like Microsoft 365 and cybersecurity products, reducing the need for manual invoicing and follow-ups on missed payments.
MSPs help organisations and businesses to offload IT burdens and focus on core operations. However, in order for them to focus on their own essential activities, MSPs need to automate complex billing scenarios, sales, order management, and customer self-service. Cloud Market Tools is a popular solution to achieve this goal.
This modular software suite supports various functions, including quoting, ordering, billing, support, and payment collection. The platform is leveraged by over 800 partners and serves more than 300,000 end users, processing £2.4 billion in annual revenue. Giacom’s broader partner network includes approximately 6,000 expert technology providers across the UK.
The integration with GoCardless, which facilitates bank-to-bank transfers for subscriptions, membership fees, invoicing, and instalment payments, allows partners to manage Direct Debit payments directly within their unified billing system, adding even more functionality to the platform. Besides, A2A payments are typically much faster and come with lower transaction fees compared to card payments. Therefore, the new integration not only reduces manual effort but also saves corporate money and improves cash flow.
GoCardless supports both one-off payments without card details and recurring transactions. The fintech company supports money transfers in over 30 countries, handling different currencies and local banking regulations.
Ant Molloy, Managing Director of Cloud Market Tools, explained that this integration enabled partners to manage collections and reconciliations without the need to switch between systems, rekey data, or chase late payments. According to him, MSPs were often under pressure to achieve more with fewer resources, but fragmented processes were still a barrier for many. He emphasised that collecting and chasing payments could consume significant time and resources, but GoCardless helped to remove much of that hassle. Molloy also mentioned that since launching the integration, they had observed strong demand from partners.
Tom Metcalfe, Director of UK&I Partnerships at GoCardless, expressed excitement about working with Giacom to simplify payments for MSPs, allowing them to concentrate on their core operations. He pointed out that bank payments were cheaper, safer, and more reliable than card payments, making them an ideal method for increasing revenue while reducing costs. Metcalfe added that the partnership enabled their joint customers to access top-tier payment solutions, including Direct Debit and innovative methods powered by open banking, all within a platform they were already familiar with and trusted.
