The Paypers reported that Dutch omnichannel payment processing company Adyen had launched contactless payments for iPhone users. Tap-to-pay will allow businesses to use Apple’s devices as a POS. Thus, merchants will be able to accept contactless payments without additional hardware.
In partnership with NewStore and New Black, Adyen can now bring the Tap-to-pay technology to various retailers. The brands and businesses that may support this payment method include Burton, Vince, G-Star, sportswear giant Nike, and a luxury Dutch brand Scotch & Soda.
For customers, the innovation means an improved in-store experience and flexibility of alternative payment options. As the use of digital wallets increases, the addition of the Tap-to-Pay technology will ensure enhanced convenience and security, as well as extra versatility at the checkout.
The Tap-to-Pay solution will allow Adyen’s customers to simplify in-person payments. Removing the necessity of expensive hardware facilitates SMEs’ operations. Besides, accepting contactless payments from iPhone users will increase scaling capabilities for businesses. The trusted method provides a safe and fast checkout experience that increases mobility on location. Meanwhile, encrypted payment data prevents fraud attempts and identity scams.
