According to Ecommerce News, 2/3 of British shoppers say they prefer home delivery. But if this delivery method isn’t offered by the online store, for 73% of customers the most trusted alternative is picking up the order at the post office. Picking up at a local Royal Mail Customer Service Point was preferred by 67% of online shoppers in the UK.

The study also asked respondents about their thoughts regarding the environment. Currently, 62% of younger shoppers say it’s important that retailers offer environmentally-friendly delivery.

The data found that nowadays, the average shopper in the UK spends £83 per month online. In comparison with 2019, this was £75 pounds. That means that the pandemic has for sure contributed to this 11% year-on-year increase.

Besides, 25% of shoppers purchase products online after seeing posts or comments by others. This behavior can be seen specifically among 47% of younger shoppers between 18 and 34 years old and 30% of women

Despite COVID-19 has led to more online shopping, 90% of online shoppers continue to purchase in-store, the data says.
