eBay has announced the acquisition of Cox Automotive Media Solutions which owns CarsGuide.com.au and Autotrader.com.au.

According to the agreement, these brands will join the Gumtree Australia business, a part of the eBay Classifieds Group portfolio.

Together, Autotrader.com.au and Gumtree aim to provide an attractive car-buying offering. Besides, this Gumtree will be able to develop a more competitive and attractive platform for consumers across Australia.

CarsGuide.com.au provides sellers and dealers resources to access research and content for buying and selling vehicles.

As to Autotrader.com.au, it supplies services for dealers and creates key relationships between buyers and sellers. Along with Gumtree Australia, they create a comprehensive offering for the automotive industry.

We’ve reported that eBay has announced the launch of the “Up & Running” program, aimed to help non-e-commerce retailers to start selling online. The company is pledging up to $100 million in support of small businesses across North America.
