Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company starts its international expansion of NFT support on Instagram. Besides, it launches new integrations with Coinbase and Dapper. The move follows Instagram’s initial NFT test launch in May.

From now on, users and businesses in more than 100 countries in Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and the Americas will be able to share their NFTs on Instagram. Previously, the support was only available to select creators in the United States.

Instagram’s NFT functionality allows users to connect a digital wallet, share NFTs and automatically tag both creators and collectors. Users can share NFTs in their main Instagram Feed, Stories or via messages. Once they post a digital collectible, it will have a shimmer effect. In addition, the non-fungible token can display public information, such as a description of the NFT.

Those who wish to post a digital collectible on Instagram need to connect their digital wallets. At present, Instagram supports connections with third-party wallets including Rainbow, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet and Dapper Wallet. Supported blockchains include Ethereum, Polygon and newly-added Flow. Posting or sharing a digital collectible on Instagram incurs no additional fees.

Today’s expansion reflects Meta’s efforts to expand access to web3 technology through NFTs, and support creators who want to monetize their work and build community with their fans and collectors.
