Instagram’s parent company Meta announced that the Meta Pay feature will be available in chats to facilitate the purchase process for both merchants and customers. If you wish to use the new option, just send a message to a qualified small business. Ask questions, make a purchase and track your order – all within the same chat thread.

The feature was launched for SMEs in the US, meaning they don’t have to set up a digital storefront on Instagram Shops. Besides, eligible businesses will be able to confirm purchases, create payment requests with item descriptions and prices and collect payments.

Meta Pay is a rebranded Facebook Pay. The feature provides an easy, secure way to shop, send money and donate across Meta’s corporate networks including Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp. Moreover, this payment method encrypts and securely stores your payment card numbers and performs anti-fraud monitoring.
