According to Ecommerce News, 43% of Swiss consumers want to consume less in the future. In several product and service categories, the amount of money spent is expected to decline.

In recent months, a lot of consumers in Switzerland have saved some money. There were no visits to restaurants and there was little travel. But it’s not a temporary thing. The crisis is likely to have a lasting effect on consumer behavior, a survey by Alix Partners has found.

The research highlighted that consumers expect that spending money on entertainment and culture, travel, beauty products and services, as well as home furnishing and clothing will continue to decline in the future. This is despite the fact that the majority of the population believes in a return to normal life through vaccinations.

But in addition to spending less, the Swiss are also planning to do their shopping more online. About a third of respondents say they want to buy clothing primarily online in the future. And the online shopping of food and groceries is also likely to increase in the coming years.

We’ve reported that H&M is facing a boycott in China.
