One of the CRM market leaders, Salesforce, has released its 2019 Holiday Shopping Report, providing new insights for retailer brands to get ready for the 2020 winter shopping season. It appears that brands have started offering discounts earlier than usual thanks to a later Thanksgiving and shortened winter holiday selling season. AI tech has also affected the revenue as it drove an additional 10% of digital orders using AI-powered search and product recommendations.

Interestingly, early-season consumption has led to late-season downplay as digital revenues fell 27% during the week before Christmas. However, resourceful retailers have found it useful to offer a click and collect option to the shoppers as the capability provided a 56% increase in digital sales.

Mobile commerce is still on the rise too. Mobile engagement combining AI tech with personalization and pick up option catered to people on the go. Further mobile integration is expected to drive more digital sales, which is useful for creating a full-on omnichannel retail user journey.
