This month TransferWise launched new EUR bank details for customers in Europe. The service says it will give its customers a new IBAN, enabling them to set up Direct Debits from their EUR balances and receive Euros faster than before.
The old EUR bank details will be working until 1 July 2020. After that, unless customers use new EUR bank details, the money will bounce back to the sender.
To tell the difference between old and new EUR bank details, users can look at the letters the IBANs start with. The old ones starting in ‘DE’, whereas new details have an IBAN starting in ‘BE’.
