Whistl has announced the opening of three new fulfillment centers in the UK, according to Ecommerce News. Whistl is opening warehouses in Lutterworth, Northampton and Plymouth to speed up its expansion on the online fulfillment market.

The largest new building will have an area of almost 28,000 square meters. It will be located in Magna Park South, Lutterworth, a very popular distribution area. When ready to go, this depot will have parking for 41 heavy goods vehicles, 28 dock levelers and 2-level access points.

The second warehouse will be over 12,000 square meters and is neighboring to the Whistle Depot, which opened last fall in Moulton Park, Northampton. However, by the end of the year, the building was up and running quickly.

The third and final new fulfillment center will be 3,200 square meters and will be dedicated to Clientbase Fulfillment, a company that Whistl acquired last year.

Whistl currently has 11 fulfillment centers in the UK  with over 130,000 square meters of pick and return warehouse space.

CEO Nick Wells states that they are investing heavily in Whistl Fulfillment, driven by new consumer demand for their services.

We’ve reported that European logistics investments nearly reached €40 billion in 2020.
